Responsibilities The work you will do Completes CAD systems training activities; develops CAD training programs; writes and maintains training documentation; develops training budget and overall scope; trains new employees on CAD systems; trains in-house support staff; schedules training for CAD software in conjunction with Digital Design Manager, BIM Manager, and Design Technology CoP as appropriate Provides technical orientation to new employees regarding production standards in conjunction with the BIM Manager Performs user support duties as necessary, including production CAD support, technical support for CAD software, plotting and electronic file submission, integration of Corporate Standards and Plan Preparation Procedures to the Web, and quality assurance program requirements Manages the CAD systems department. Organizes the CAD environment, determines corporate CAD Policies, communicates with users to develop educational procedures for uniform construction plan procedures and CAD standards, and provides guidance to users and support staff Customizes CAD Programs to make the systems perform efficiently; builds user, Corporate, and Multi-Discipline Workspaces, facilitates meetings with the CADD coordinators, identifies changes to CAD environment, demonstrates updates with CADD coordinators and users, and obtains feedback from users and correct inconsistencies Coordinates and performs CAD systems maintenance:
updates seed files and template files; manages CAD software resource files; maintains custom user interface, implements efficiency tools within the CAD environment; provides corporate wide standardization of directory structure and file naming conventions; updates CAD software via service packs and major upgrades Network license management of CAD software and related engineering software including survey software; analyzes CAD application usage and plan for growth; license pooling for CAD software; maintains licenses and subscription agreements Investigates options for future upgrades, remains up to date with technical advances, reviews new versions of the CADD software, and generates technology evaluations for future software adoption Provides input to business development; develop CAD installation deployments; develops corporate design workflows for civil and transportation engineering projects; provides productivity measurements and develop benchmarks to identify sources of improvement; develops custom CAD applications to increase users' efficiencies Qualifications What you bring Skills & Knowledge / Education &
Experience:
Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology required 5
years of practical CAD design, including 3D design practices required Expert with industry standard CAD software packages; Autodesk & Bentley products, specifically Autodesk software preferred Familiar with other industry standard CAD software packages Expert with online training tools for engineers; Eagle Point Pinnacle preferred Extensive technical knowledge of design process and principals Strong knowledge and understanding of IT systems Strong written and personal communication skills with experience in technical document writing Active in industry forums and user groups, both local and national This position requires you to have authorization to work in the United States for any employer. We will not provide sponsorship for this position.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Engineering Management, Civil Engineering, Design & UXEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
